Families Enjoy Leavenworth Tree Lighting with Screen Printed Scarves.

Several Navy families stationed in the Pacific Northwest joined the Navy MWR program for a tour to Leavenworth for their annual tree lighting. My Custom T-shirt says “I’m a Loser”!

So this isn’t the first time this has happened but pointing out each time is kind of like saying “I told you so”. A Long Island man was arrested this week for a DWI. What tipped police off? Was it because the breathalyzer started beeping before it even got close to the guy? Was it because he slammed his car into a police cruiser? OR, was it his custom t-shirt that read “I’m a Drunk”? My guess is that it was all three. The custom printed t-shirt in its entirety said “I’m not an alcoholic, I’m a Drunk, Alcoholics go to meetings”. I’ll bet his court hearing will graduate him to an alcoholic as I’m sure AA meetings will be mandated. Think he will wear his fancy custom t-shirt to those events?

Keeping Custom T-shirts Cheap

As the holiday season approaches MSN warns shoppers that they will see no price breaks on items containing cotton. That’s right there is no relief in sight for the price of cotton. Retailers say the average pair of jeans is increasing five to seven dollars and you will also see the pinch when stocking up on socks, t-shirts or purchasing new bedding. In a world where The Kardishians and Unicef are marketing t-shirts for thousands and Victoria’s Secret is peddling a 2.5 million dollar bra one would think these price increases are no big deal. We at TheShirtPrinter.com see it differently. Cotton prices began to rapidly rise over a year ago and unlike the competition we have not raised our custom t-shirt prices. We understand that most are on a budget when purchasing custom t-shirts so we have done all we can to keep the prices low. San Jose Sharks Policy Banning Custom Printed T-Shirts

Utilizing custom printed t-shirts to promote your small business is a great idea unless you are attending a San Jose Sharks game. The NHL team has recently changed their dress code banning custom printed t-shirts that promote a business. They claim that wearing custom apparel to their events is promotion and therefore considered advertising and we all know that doesn’t come free!
Everyone is well aware that any major sports team wants to milk every cent they can but this one seems to be a bit of a personal attack that may even infringe on their fans freedom of speech.
Here’s the story. Jeffrey Stanley, owner of Bad Boys Bail Bonds, and his family have been proudly wearing their custom printed t-shirts and sitting in their $20,000 seats for over 10 years. Last year Mr. Stanley took it up a notch and sponsored the ads behind the penalty box for an additional $70,000. Not seeing a great return on his investment he decided to just stick with is high dollar seats this year. So one might see why he took it a little personal when he was told he could no longer wear his promotional shirts to the game. He probably even took it a bit more personal that the Sharks called him to inform him of the new policy banning custom printed t-shirts that promote businesses.
Any constitutional attorney would say that this policy violates fans freedom of speech. Furthermore how does the team expect to enforce a ban on custom printed t-shirts? Are fans of the opposing team not allowed to promote their team? That is definitely a business. If a fan is wearing a religious t-shirt is he promoting a business? Would one of Tommy Hilfiger’s t-shirts or a screen printed t-shirt from Affliction violate? Technically they are all advertisements.
While most fans are suckered into wearing overprice custom apparel supporting their favorite team there are still some like Jeffery who likes to go out and show his pride by promoting his own business via a custom printed t-shirt. And, of course we here at TheShirtPrinter.com fully support him!

Willie Nelson! Weed! Custom T-Shirts!

It’s commonly known that Willie Nelson is a supporter of marijuana. So it would stand to reason that many attending his concerts might also partake in Aunt Mary’s gift. Why then would one concert attendee be asked to remove her custom t-shirt displaying an herbal friendly message? Apparently, no one has the answer to this question.
When Nebraska State Fair Executive Director Joseph McDermott was asked why state troopers demanded a woman to remove her custom t-shirt saying “Don’t Panic It’s Organic” he sighted “fair policy”. Apparently, the Nebraska State Fair Policy disallows “anything Illegal” on state fairgrounds. Not sure how they find this t-shirt illegal and not find it illegal that Mr. Nelson was singing “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die”, selling screen printed t-shirts with pot leaves on them, OR that various people in the audience were reportedly partaking during the concert.
Seems the only thing illegal was that these State Troopers striped this woman of her freedom of speech. The women submitted to Police by changing into a custom printed t-shirt supporting the Nebraska State Lottery. Apparently the states system of legalized gambling is far less damaging than weed.

Custom Printed T-Shirts on a Budget

Often we find that many design custom t-shirts only to find that it won’t be cost effective for their budget. Here are a few tips that will help you make your own t shirt in the most cost effective manner possible.

Tip #1. Order your custom tee shirts in large volumes when possible. Printing custom t-shirts is like printing business cards, newspapers, or any variety of items, the cost is in the set up. As such, the higher the quantity of custom apparel ordered the lower the cost per unit becomes.

Tip #2. Look for a cotton mix product vs 100% cotton. The product chosen plays a factor in the price of custom apparel. Name brands, type of fabric and specialty items will drive the price up. Changing a product from a 100% cotton ringer tee to a 50-50 white tee will dramatically bring the cost down.

Tip #3. Be flexible on the colors of your custom tee shirts. Color of your custom t shirt also enters into the mix. Because color shirts require extra steps in the printing process you will find that it is less expensive to print custom t-shirts on white rather than color.

Tip #4. Be aware, the more elaborate and more locations of the t-shirt design, the higher the cost. When you make your own t shirt, your t-shirt design plays a big factor in the cost. How many colors and where you want it printed will determine how much you pay. Basically, the more colors and the more areas you print, on your custom t shirt the higher the cost. When you make your own t shirt the best rule of thumb for a cost effective custom t shirt is, one color and one side.

Tip #5. Stick with sizes less than XL Lastly, size plays a factor. You will find that custom tee shirts sizes above XL cost a bit more. Unfortunately the only thing one can do to change that is hit the gym!
