Keeping Custom T-Shirt Costs Low
Often we find that many design custom t-shirts only to find that it won’t be cost effective for their budget. Here are a few tips that will help you make your own t shirt in the most cost effective manner possible.
Tip #1. Order your custom tee shirts in large volumes when possible. Printing custom t-shirts is like printing business cards, newspapers, or any variety of items, the cost is in the set up. As such, the higher the quantity of custom apparel ordered the lower the cost per unit becomes.
Tip #2. Look for a cotton mix product vs 100% cotton. The product chosen plays a factor in the price of custom apparel. Name brands, type of fabric and specialty items will drive the price up. Changing a product from a 100% cotton ringer tee to a 50-50 white tee will dramatically bring the cost down.
Tip #3. Be flexible on the colors of your custom tee shirts. Color of your custom t shirt also enters into the mix. Because color shirts require extra steps in the printing process you will find that it is less expensive to print custom t-shirts on white rather than color.
Tip #4. Be aware, the more elaborate and more locations of the t-shirt design, the higher the cost. When you make your own t shirt, your t-shirt design plays a big factor in the cost. How many colors and where you want it printed will determine how much you pay. Basically, the more colors and the more areas you print, on your custom t shirt the higher the cost. When you make your own t shirt the best rule of thumb for a cost effective custom t shirt is, one color and one side.
Tip #5. Stick with sizes less than XL Lastly, size plays a factor. You will find that custom tee shirts sizes above XL cost a bit more. Unfortunately the only thing one can do to change that is hit the gym!
Have a great day and remember when you make your own t shirt, Price = Quantity + Product + Color + Design + Size.

Custom Printed T-shirts made easy!
Slyvia, the mini-maker from Make magazine’s Sylvia’s Maker Show demonstrates how to make screen printing easy……. or does she? While I truly admire this little girl and the craft shows she puts together, making custom printed t-shirts at home isn’t as easy as she makes it look. However, I want to share this video because it gives a basic idea of how screen printed t-shirts are created. Often customers ask why the cost per t-shirt goes down with and increase in quantity. As our little expert Slyvia demonstrates there is a lot of set up involved to make just one custom printed t-shirt. As such when screen printing it is most cost effective to print more than one custom printed t-shirt at a time. While getting your fingers all dirty and making a big ole mess can be fun creating your custom t-shirt on line is much easier. Using TheShirtPritner.com you can design and order your own custom printed t-shirt in minutes and have it delivered to your door. Hassel and mess free!
Hanes and Gildan are great choices for Custom Printed T-shirts
Custom Printed T-shirts are surely not going to go out of fashion. Can you imagine a society to flaunt its flamboyant fashion sense without those distinctive cotton t-shirt, youth t-shirts and pocket tees? Looking at the market we can see a number of entrants and fierce competitors who’re on their job to supply better tees like the Gildan T-shirts and Hanes T-shirts which are rather matchless in comfort and style. These companies have joined other counterparts in providing exclusively designed comfy cotton t-shirts and youth t-shirts to attract new customers. I’m sure this is a good piece of news to those who’re keen in updating their fashion sense.
As I said before, Gildan T-shirts and Hanes T-shirts are just right for anything you do. You don’t have to confine yourself or hold back from doing something. All those apprehensions you had before can be put behind you. For the same reason a lot of people prefer Gildan T-shirts to any other brand of its like. Hanes T-shirts is of similar class; even it is not inferior to any so-called comfortable brand offering youth t-shirts and pocket tees. Such T-shirts serve dual purpose. They’re well designed to keep you comfortable on the inside and very strong, rough and tough on the outside. Isn’t this a unique characteristic?
Certainly it is. Not many fashion brands, which have made a mark in the market, are as good as these two brands namely the Gildan T-shirts and Hanes T-shirts. The companies that sell those merchandise may push it to customers emphasizing their first rate quality however they don’t look superior as they’re referred to. Perhaps what these companies missed out on is what popular brands like Gildan and Hanes gained. Who knows, this attribute might help such brands build their reputation. Popular cotton t-shirt and youth t-shirts offered by these brands don’t shrink after successive washes which is a common complaint with customers of other companies in the market. Looking at how these brands have performed as yet, we can clearly conclude these brands are here to stay no matter what others provide their customers with.

While the police won’t bother Leslie, the iconic cross dresser of Austin for walking down the street in a jock strap, t-shirt and smile they may arrest one for just a wearing a custom printed t-shirt. Lance Mitchell is a man with a mission and a t-shirt. This Lakeway resident is tired of police speed traps and has used the power of the t-shirt to battle it. However, that t-shirt ended him in some hot water. Mitchell was arrested for sporting his custom printed t-shirt that read SpeedTrapAhead.org. Are t-shirts illegal or is it illegal to use the first amendment and display your views on a t-shirt? No. But the police found a little loophole to arrest Mitchell who was apparently making a dent in their speed ticket revenue by setting up camp ahead of speed traps and warning drivers. Mitchell was arrested for displaying a sign that drivers might mistake for an official traffic-control device. I don’t know about you but I’ve never seen any traffic sign printed on a t-shirt. Increasing Cotton Prices = Increasing T-Shirt Prices…..Not at TheShirtPrinter.com
Cotton, what a great fabric! We slip it on in the morning, dry off with it after a shower, snuggle in it throughout our slumber and dry our tears with it. It truly is the fabric of life! Sadly, the fabric of life, much like life itself, is going to start to cost more.
Flooding has caused a poor harvest in China and Pakistan. The Hurricane in Haiti took several facilities that manufacture items such as T-shirts, Hoodies, sweat pants, polos, and many other garments we have grown to love. End retailers such as those who create custom printed t-shirts are starting to feel the pinch as cotton prices soar.
Cotton prices have just hit $1.19 per pound — the highest level since the New York Cotton Exchange started keeping records in 1870. While we are working to not raise our custom t-shirt prices this is probably not the standard industry wide. So, if you are scratching your head about what to get others for Christmas take a look in their linen closet. You could be saving them some money by replacing sheets, towels, etc before the prices increase.
While many are planning to pass this cost onto the end consumer, YOU! TheShirtPrinter.com is finding other ways to “trim the fat” so we can keep the cost of our custom printed t-shirts low. In the past year we have seen an 8 percent increase on t-shirts and up to 16 percent on items such as hoodies, long sleeve t-shirts and sweat pants. It is inevitable to avoid ever raising the price of screen printed t-shirts but for the time being we are striving to keep our t-shirt prices low. Why? Cause we give a shirt about you!
